The Firms That Actually Pay
Let me start with the most important question: Do they pay?
Yes, but not all of them equally fast.
FTMO paid me in 48 hours. Twice. Both times exactly on schedule.
FundedNext paid in 5 days (bi-weekly schedule). Also reliable.
The 5%ers took 9 days. Still acceptable.
Those three? Solid. The others on this list I haven't personally tested but have verified payout proofs from multiple traders.
1. FTMO - Best Overall (My Rating: 9.2/10)
What I like: - 90% profit split after first payout - Money in your account in 48 hours - No time limits on challenges - Been around since 2015 - rock solid reputation
What I don't like: - That 5% daily loss limit is brutal - $540 for $100K challenge (expensive) - 10% Phase 1 target is higher than competitors
Who it's for: Experienced traders who value fast payouts and reputation over cheap entry costs.
I passed my FTMO challenge in 54 days. Took longer than I wanted because I was being conservative with that 5% daily limit. First payout was $4,800. In my bank account 48 hours after I requested it.
2. FundedNext - Best for Beginners (My Rating: 8.8/10)
What I like: - Three different evaluation models to choose from - 120% refund when you get funded (insane value) - 8% Phase 1 target vs FTMO's 10% - Excellent customer support (they actually respond)
What I don't like: - Express model's 6% daily limit is stricter than standard - Consistency rule trips people up (50% max from 2 days)
Who it's for: Beginners or anyone who wants flexible options.
I chose their Standard model. Passed in 28 days. The 8% Phase 1 target is much more reasonable than FTMO's 10%. Plus that 120% refund? I paid $450 for the challenge, got back $540 when funded.
3. The 5%ers - Best for "Skip the Evaluation" (My Rating: 9.0/10)
What's unique: - Instant funding available - no evaluation needed - Start with $6K and scale up - 80% profit split on everything
The catch: - You start smaller ($6K vs $100K evaluations) - Scaling takes time - Some programs have monthly fees
Who it's for: Traders who hate evaluation pressure.
I'm currently trading their instant-funded $12K account (started at $6K, scaled once). It's perfect for low-stress trading. No "fail and lose $500" pressure.
4. Topstep - Best for Futures Traders (My Rating: 9.1/10)
Why futures traders love it: - No daily loss limits (just overall max loss) - Been around since 2012 - longest track record - Excellent futures education and community
Why forex traders hate it: - Futures only, no forex - Monthly subscription fees ($165-$375/month) - More expensive than one-time evaluation firms
Who it's for: Futures day traders only.
I don't trade futures so I haven't tested this personally, but every futures trader I know uses either Topstep or Apex. The no-daily-loss-limit structure is huge for futures.
5. Apex Trader Funding - Futures Specialist (My Rating: 8.9/10)
Similar to Topstep but with stricter consistency rules (40% max from best day). Great platform integration with Rithmic and Tradovate.
6. E8 Markets - Best Profit Split (My Rating: 8.4/10)
95% profit split. That's $250 extra per $5,000 profit compared to 80% firms. Newer firm (2023) but early reports are positive.
